Version 2.0.8 (jun 2024)

This release is only for Windows and MacOS and makes some slight improvements to video

  • Video can now be detached from the main window and put anywhere on the screen, also allowing access to the controls that were hidden by the video window
  • On MacOS 13 and higher the app would automatically select you iPhone camera if continuity was senabled. Now the default camera is the bult in Mac camers
  • Fixes problem where 2nd channel of input 2 not working correctly

Version 2.0.7 (jun 2024)

This release is only for Windows and MacOS

  • Adds a "mono" button to a mixer input to disable automatic upmixing of mono channels
  • Fixes problem where mixer would incorrectly mix multiple instruments
  • Fixes problem where 2nd channel of input 2 not working correctly

Version 2.0.6 (jun 2022)

This is a release is only for Windows

  • Fixes a bug where some users using the app for the first time see a crash on startup

Version 2.0.4 (jun 2022)

This is a release is not (yet) available for Android.

  • All players can now use video simultaneously, if there is enough bandwidth and processing power
  • Fixes to problems with volume controls in Pro mode

Version 2.0.1/2.0.2 (May 2022)

Major new release with lots of new features and internal revisions for MacOS and Windows. iOS and Android will follow later. A complete description can be found here. Version 2.0.2 is a quick fix to repair some bugs in 2.0.1. Highlights are:

  • Cleaner more modern look and feel with more options for controlling the layout and background
  • Options for noise gating, plugins and severa other features for controlling the audio stream.
  • Less glitching on network problems for smoother audio
  • Lossless option
  • Better calibrated controls and separate gain and fader for input controls
  • Accessibility improvements.

Version 1.6.6/1.6.7 (jan 2022)

Two releases to fix some problems with the Win and Mac versions:

  • Version 1.6.5 had a bug which meant that some Windows and Mac users would experience dropouts and noise on the line. This has been fixed in this version
  • On some computers you need to reset a channel when player 3 or higher joins. This has now been fixed.

Version 1.6.5 (jan 2022)

This is a realease for Windows and MacOS only

  • Improvements on compatibility with the NVDA screen reader
  • Updates to accessibility functions in general settings
  • Minor bugfixes in the new jamming function
  • (Windows) single installer for both 64 and 32 bit versions

Version 1.6.3/1.6.4 (jan 2022)

Updates to all platforms with a number of improvements and additions:

  • You can now create public jam sessions which anyone can join
  • When a user leaves a session then they are automatically removed from the list
  • You can now switch back from a backing track to the metronome
  • New versions of the plugin have been releases for MacOS and Windows. Main improvements are stability and fixing the problem with garbled sound.
  • Several bug fixes

Version 1.6.2 (nov 2021)

Updates to all platforms with a number of improvements and additions:

  • We've added a function to play a backing track in the mix
  • You can now accurately choose the metronome speed by entering the bps directly
  • Round volume control knobs now have a built-in VU meter
  • Sound quality has been improved and noise reduced
  • The video handling has been rewritten to be more reliable
  • Lots of bugfixes, as usual

Version 1.6.1 (oct 2021)

Updates to all platforms with a number of improvements and additions:

  • There has been a major ugrade to move to a much newer version of the codec. This does not work together with the old codec, so the session will automatically switch to the old codec if anyone is using an older version.
  • Latency measurement in Wizard now works on all continents
  • [Windows] WASAPI exclusive mode now supported
  • Several bug fixes

Version 1.5.3 (sep 2021)

Updates to all platforms with a number of improvements and additions:

  • Now supports up to 12 players, assuming you device is powerful enough and there is enough bandwidth.
  • For Windows and and Mac there is now a master volume control
  • Improvements to video for older computers
  • Several bug fixes, mainly around problems selecting devices

Version 1.4.7 (jun 2021)

This is a quick fix because a service we use to connect users has changed. Solocontutti will in most cases no longer work without this update.

Version 1.4.6 (jun 2021)

This is a quick fix release to address an error in 1.4.5. The check on allowed characters in the name was made too strict and excluded non-European characters. This has now been fixed.

Version 1.4.5 (may 2021)

  • Session code can be copied and pasted into another app
  • Improvements in video reception
  • Monitor button for plugin on iOS easier to hit
  • Test signal can now read files with sampling rates up to 384KHz
  • Several bug fixes

Version 1.4.4 (apr 2021)

  • Fixed bug which would crash app when video accepted or started with camera disabled or unavailable

Version 1.4.3 (apr 2021)

Main changes are:

  • Fixed wizard buttons hidden by keyboard on iOS
  • Support for communication with versions older than 1.3.1 has been dropped

Version 1.4.1 (mar 2021)

This has been a major change which introduces video to Solocontutti. The video is currently only available for the first two users in a session, and is intended mainly as a teaching aid.

Version 1.3.4 (dec 2020)

Bugsfixes - this is a minor release to fix a couple of bugs that crept into version 1.3.3

  • Second input channel was sometimes not working, now fixed
  • Latency displaying too high, now correct

Version 1.3.3 (nov 2020)

Full stereo

  • Stereo inputs are now transmitted as full stereo, or split channels
  • Sensitivity of meters for lower volumes improved/li>
  • Separate control of plugin monitoring and gain
  • Support for WASAPI low latency mode

Version 1.3.2 (nov 2020)

Plugin and Sampling Rate

  • Alle versions (except Android) now support the VST3 (Windows & Mac) and the Audio Unit plugins (iOS and MacOS)
  • The plugin to connect Solocontutti to other apps is now available for download for iOS
  • Different sampling rates (up to 48KHz) supported
  • Improvements to connection stability, particularly within local networks
  • Less noise when network glitches
  • Bug fixes (of course)

Version 1.3.1 (oct 2020)

New features and connectivity update

  • New connection module to improve the chances of getting a stable connection
  • The app now accepts and displays text in non-European characters, such as Japanese or Chinese
  • The Wizard now does a check on network quali ty. For this reason the Wizard will re-run when you upgrade to this version
  • The network latency is now displayed for each channel
  • Layout changes
  • ...and of course, squashed some more bugs

Version 1.3.0 (aug 2020)

New version concentrating on user responses

  • Connections are generally made faster and are more reliably
  • Small dropouts in network connections are handled better
  • Mobile devices no have an option to stop the app from the menu
  • When generating a diagnostic report you can now enter your own comments

Version 1.2.17 (jul 2020)

This version is being released mainly in preparation of the release of the Android version, but has a few significant changes as well as the usual set of bug fixes.

  • [Windows only] The ASIO4ALL devices are now enabled automatically.
  • Logging is always enabled (file size limited to 500k) and the diagnostics have been extended to allow support to better solve problems
  • In the tuning dialogue changing the adapdive jitter buffer status automatically resets the channels
  • In some cases connections would never complete correctly and just keep hanging. This has been fixed

Version 1.2.16 (jun 2020)

The fix for crackling didn't work correctly on all computers. This version fixes it.

Version 1.2.15 (jun 2020)

This version has some significant updates, depending on platform:

  • A bug introduced in the last version which causes crackling in some cases, has been fixed
  • A bug which sometimes causes the first channel in a session to be muted, has been fixed. We suspect that this may also have fixed a problem with echo's being heard, but would like some feedback
  • In iOS on some devices the app would crash on startup. This has been fixed
  • The app can now connect through more types of router
  • The tuning screen saves its parameters and now includes an option for turning off the adaptive buffer
  • In Windows when using ASIO4ALL some parameters are now set automatically instead of having to open a control panel
  • The diagnostic reporting has been improved to send more information to support
  • A tool has been added to the console to allow simulation of network congestion to help in tuning the app.

Version 1.2.14 (jun 2020)

Version 1.2.14 has lots of changes under the bonnet to improve stability and sound quality, as well as the introduction of a menu for iOS

  • iOS has a number of buttons replaced by a more logical menu
  • The problem with not always correctly closing sessions has been fixed
  • Less powerful machines should now be able to work with smaller framesizes

Version 1.2.13 (may 2020)

Version 1.2.13 is an iOS only release which now adds support for iPhones. Other changes are:

  • The app now works in the background
  • If there is no session active the app switches sound off when in the background

Version 1.2.11 (may 2020)

Version 1.2.11 is the first iOS release and is not yet released for other platforms.

Version 1.2.10 (may 2020)

Version 1.2.10 has a number of minor changes

  • Some minor changes to the interface to make it easier to use
  • Fix a number of bugs that were causing occasional crashes
  • Using cookies instead of IP addresses to identify members in a session
  • Minor improvements to increase stability
  • Fixed a bug that limited MacOS users to 5 members in a session
